Nikos Greek Kitchen was started by a husband and wife team, Nikos and Jacqui at our first downtown Reno's West Street Market location in 2009. The Downtown location closed Dec 2016. Nikos was the chef, while Jacqui was the cashier, dishwasher and bookkeeper. We wanted to offer our customers delicious Greek inspired cuisine 7 days a week, and that's what we did. We opened our Sparks location Oct 2015 in Spanish Springs on Disc Dr to ensure all of our customers had the convenience and opportunity to enjoy our healthy, yet mouthwatering meals . Prior to Nikos Greek Kitchen, we owned and operated Grekos Pizza.

Nikos worked in restaurants in Athens Greece for 20 years before coming to the US in 1981. Nikos found a place to call home, and moved to Reno in 1982. Jacqui has lived in Reno since 1985. Both being blackjack dealers, we became good friends and were inseparable, and were married after less than a year. We were married for 25 years, and had 3 amazing kids.
In June of 2013, Nikos was diagnosed with cancer. In January of 2016, Nikos passed away. He was such a beautiful person. He was handsome, kind, caring and very funny. People who met him or knew him, instantly liked or loved him. He had that persona that's unforgettable. It was such a great loss. Today, we continue his legacy, offering our customers a place to visit for not only great food, but a relaxing family oriented environment, and a place to feel special. We love all of our customers, and we invite everyone to come by our Sparks, NV location. |
